The zettle wedding / 2022

This was an event held at the client's home. We used the large patio area to build two food stations, a build-your-own salad bar, as well as a multifunctional station that started as a build-your-own Southern Slider Bar and then transitioned into a build-your-own Tostada Bar. As the theme was "backyard BBQ, we opened the event with Mini Corn Dog topped with SH&G Meat Syrup in mini red Solo Cups.

The Birthday bash / 2022

Eve and George are both adventurous and very open-minded to creative culinary experiences. It has been our privilege to work with them on some truly fantastic events. In this most recent event, we were able to combine passed items with an outdoor Chef's station. It was a lovely balance of live-action and refined cooking.

Both my husband and I have had the pleasure of hiring Chef Jason Robins and Aiden currently at Gastown Smokehouse and Grill on a number of occasions over the past three years. 


Jason has a way with food that is imaginative, creative and he takes flavour profiling to a whole new level.   Both Jason and Aiden have catered at our home for fancy sit-down dinners, a wedding and a number of casual birthdays. He can jump from BBQ casual to refined fine dining.


The team is respectful of the offsite space they work in during your event. They arrive all prepped and ready to go and at the end of your event your kitchen Is spotless as though no one was there.

The mexi - tex party / 2022

An event that focused on our two focal points, Authentic Sountern BBQ & Mexican cuisine. This family style affair encourages the guests to share the and eat as a family would. A throw back to the days of family dinners where the food fuels the chat.

Jason and the team at SH&G did incredible work for our staff event. They created a fantastic menu for us based around our personal requests and we could not have been happier with the outcome. We are looking forward to our next opportunity for a delicious SH&G spread!

Northern Air Transport Association's
annual conference / 2022

We had the pleasure to be invited to contribute to this amazing annual event. Originally set as an outdoor event, which was moved due to poor weather into the Air Tindi hanger giving the event a thematic flavour.
We showcased our style of Build Your Own Tostada live station featuring authentic Mexican staples to create multiple styles 

We have had the pleasure of working with Jason and his team for multiple events this past year.  They are professional, approachable, and passionate about what they do.  Jason is happy to work with individual tastes to pull together a special menu tailored to your event and your audience.  We look forward to working with them again going forward.

NSERC Permafrostnet General Meeting / 2022

This was a two-day event, the opening day, and an all-day conference featuring a full-day breakfast program of Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. The following day, a smaller more intimate multidrop event. Both days focused on providing as much variety and variance so that the guests never grew tired of the cusine.

“Having our catering done by Jason and his team at Smokehouse and Grill was a fabulous experience. The service was excellent and Jason was great at communicating, very responsive, clear and always focused on ensuring we were completely happy with everything. We needed two events catered at reasonably short notice and Jason spent time with me discussing what would be suitable dishes and serving styles for our attendees, carefully listening to the event size, style and venue, and he was very accommodating of any changes as we got closer to the event date. It was a huge weight of my shoulders as I could focus on the other parts of organizing our event knowing Jason had it in hand. However, the best part was the food! The carnitas pork tostadas were delicious, the best dish I’ve had in ages, and if I could, I would have eaten just that for a week. I have no doubt in my mind that if I need an event catered again in Yellowknife, Smokehouse and Grill will be my first choice.”

Air Tindi Staff Christmas Event / 2022

Tis' the season to be Christmas partying! This was a pretty special night for our team. Not only do we have a great relationship with the Air TIndi Staff (big supporters of the SH&G), but it was also the largest event we had been contracted to execute. 

We smoked the turkey and the ham and the scratch gravy and cranberry chutney made the menu shine. We never do anything standard so this menu was designed to not only please but to surprise.

We recently used Jason and his team at Smokehouse & Grill for our 275-person Christmas Party and were blown away by the level of service and quality of the food. From start to finish, the team at Smokehouse & Grill was professional, organized, and extremely helpful in planning and executing the perfect menu for our occasion.

We went with traditional Christmas fare and the flavours were incredible. Next time we will just let him use his imagination. We only received fantastic compliments from our staff on the delicious spread, and many can’t wait to until their next meal from the restaurant. Jason also catered a customer event for us with a Mexican theme. Unreal flavours and passion! Beyond these nights, Jason goes over the top with customer service as he prepares a weekly breakfast option for a number of our employees.

I highly recommend Jason and Smokehouse & Grill for any catering needs. They truly exceeded our expectations and made our event a complete success. Thank you, Jason, for your outstanding service and culinary expertise.
